Safety deck installation
A two- or three-person crew, one visit, a jointly countersigned Handover Certificate. How Graceland installs Trad Deck and G-Deck on housebuilding, care-home and commercial sites across the UK.

One visit. The deck goes in. The paperwork gets signed.
By the time one of our crews arrives on your site, the survey has already happened, the RAMS pack is already in your CDM file, and the delivery window is on your programme. The install itself is the bit most people worry about least — and that is exactly how it should feel. The install is where 30 years of doing nothing else starts to show.
A two- or three-person crew, one visit, a working platform signed off and handed to you before we drive off site.

What happens on an install day
- Arrival and induction. The crew lead arrives ten minutes before the slot. They do your site induction (or show their existing CSCS card and valid induction record), and they check in with your site manager. Vehicles stay where you tell them to stay.
- Unload and set-out. Panels, legs, heads and base units come off the truck in the sequence the install pattern needs them. Before anything goes in, the crew lead checks every component for defects against the TRAD user guide, per the Do's & Don'ts poster.
- Legs plumb, heads and feet pinned. Legs are set plumb, heads located and pinned, feet located and pinned. All sides of the system are restrained by suitable support — not green brickwork. That is the TRAD user guide speaking, not us; we just do what it says.
- Panels laid. Panels are carried in and laid to the survey pattern, bay by bay. Where the geometry is awkward — a stair void, a service riser, a non-square bay — panels are swapped mid-run as the survey specified.
- Inspection walk-through. The crew lead walks the completed deck with your site agent. Every leg, every head, every pin, every panel checked. Any defects are quarantined on the spot and swapped before sign-off.
- Jointly countersigned Handover Certificate. Your site agent and our crew lead sign the Handover Certificate together and a copy stays on your site file. That is the document that puts the platform formally into service.

What we leave with you on the day
A clean, plumb, pinned, signed-off platform. A copy of the countersigned Handover Certificate. A daily visual inspection prompt your site induction can pick up. And — if your H&S team has asked for them — the Trad Deck user guide and the Decking Loadings Chart for your compliance file.

What we do not do
We do not cut panels. We do not step legs onto green brickwork. We do not hand you a platform with a component we are unsure about. The TRAD user guide is explicit that the system is not indestructible and will fail if abuse and misuse go unreported. Our entire install process is built around catching that before it ends up on your site file.
We also do not install Trad Deck as a crash deck, because it is not one. Trad Deck is a fall-prevention platform — it is there to stop a fall happening, not to arrest one. That distinction matters on the Handover Certificate.

Compliance, in the paragraph your principal designer will want
Every install we deliver is Load Class 3 under BS EN 12811-1:2003 on Trad Deck runs, with a safe working load of 2.0 kN/m² UDL (inclusive of operatives on the deck) and Class B material fragility under ACR[M]001:2014. Every platform over 2m is inspected and recorded under the Work at Height Regulations 2005, and a jointly countersigned Handover Certificate is issued on install and after any alteration, impact, adverse weather event or reported incident. Every operative is CSCS-certified and every install is FASET-compliant.
Who is running your install
On most installs it is one of our senior installers leading the crew, with Paul Darrington or Ewan Craig on site for the first plot of a new programme or the handover walk-through on a care-home or commercial block. The person laying your panels is not three organisations away from the person who took your first phone call.
