Graceland in Bedfordshire

Bedfordshire is on the doorstep. The Bedfordshire county line sits a few minutes south of our yard in St Neots, and the rest of the county is a short run down the A1 or across the A6 — Bedford itself is the closest, then south through Biggleswade, Ampthill and Flitwick to Luton, Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard at the southern end. The M1 picks up everything west of Bedford, and the A421 closes the loop across to Milton Keynes for sites that straddle the Beds-Bucks boundary. Bedfordshire is one of the easiest counties in the country for us to mobilise into.

What we install across Bedfordshire

Bedfordshire installs are mostly Trad Deck, the polypropylene panel system rated to Load Class 3 under BS EN 12811-1:2003 with a safe working load of 2.0 kN/m² UDL inclusive of operatives and Class B material fragility under ACR[M]001:2014. The Bedfordshire housing market produces a lot of repeating-bay plot work, which is exactly where Trad Deck's pattern repetition pays off plot by plot.

On suitable Luton and south-Bedfordshire industrial or warehouse floor plates, G-Deck Lite can bring fast lightweight steel handling and efficient coverage; some sites use both systems. Either is a fall-prevention working platform, not a crash deck, and the Handover Certificate names the system installed.

Who we work with in Bedfordshire

National and regional housebuilders are the dominant client across Bedfordshire — Bedford and the corridor south toward Wixams and Stewartby is one of the busiest housebuilding markets in the East of England, and the Bedfordshire commuter towns are running multi-plot programmes most of the year. Care-home operators commission new build and refurbishment work across Bedford, Luton and the smaller market towns. And commercial principal contractors run logistics, light-industrial and office work along the M1 and A6 corridors. The same Graceland crew installs for all three.

How a Bedfordshire installation works

How a Bedfordshire installation works — Graceland on site
  1. 01

    Enquire

Send the drawings, area and programme. We measure on paper first; if a Bedfordshire site visit is useful, it can normally be arranged promptly.

  2. 02

    Plan and RAMS

A method statement, risk assessment and CDM 2015-mapped RAMS pack lands with your principal designer for sign-off before anything goes on site.

  3. 03

    Install

A two- or three-person crew lays the deck in one visit and walks the completed platform with your site agent. A jointly countersigned Handover Certificate puts it formally into service.

  4. 04

    Dismantle

A single planned visit once the trades above are finished. Every component visually inspected on the way out, defects quarantined, compound handed back clean.
